Photos: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie “Americanah” Signing in Atlanta

Presented by the Georgia Center for the Book, Nigerian-born author of Purple Hibiscus and Half a Yellow Sun (now a feature length adaptation starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Thandie Newton), Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie   read from her new paperback, Americanah, a story of love and race centered around a young man and woman from Nigeria who face difficult choices and challenges in the countries they come to call home.

The author was greeted to a rousing standing ovation upon entering the First Baptist Decatur Church Sanctuary.  Adichie read briefly from Americanah, then answered nearly thirty questions from fans.  She then spent well over two hours signing books, chatting with event attendees and posing for photographs.
