The Hurston/Wright Foundation will host authors Bernice McFadden, poet Thomas Sayers Ellis and author Jervey Tervalon. McFadden will read from her novel “Gathering of Waters” about black woman coming of age in Mississippi between the Great Flood of 1927 and the murder of Emmett Til. Thomas Sayers Ellis, author of “Skin, Inc.” will read selections from his body of poetry. Jervey Tervalon will read from his novel “Monster’s Chef” about an ex-con cook who takes a nightmare job working for a country singer.  This event is free and open to the public.
